Detrimental Black Eating Habits

Our Present Has Been Impacted By Our Past

Ever since I was little, I've seen loved ones struggle with their weight and wondered if this fight was hereditary. As got older I started to pay more attention to what I and others consumed on a daily basis. Throughout my research, it has become clear to me that my family was not the exception and that close to 50% of black families around the world struggle with weight and diet changes. The eating habits that we've grown upon are also the ones that our parents, grandparents, and great grandparents have struggled with as well. This issue is not hereditary but has followed black people since slavery. Now that we know what the issue is, it's time to address it and make it easier for future generations after us.
